Contents of the workshop

SQL (Structured Query Language) and relational databases based on it make it possible to store and query data in a structured way. This hands-on workshop teaches basic knowledge and concepts for efficiently querying research data using SQL. The aim of the workshop is to familiarize you with the query language.

The methods used in the digital workshop include live coding, individual exercises, plenary and group work as well as discussion and reflection rounds, which will be supplemented by case studies. The workshop will be organized by Rabea Müller (ZB MED). No special IT knowledge is required. The teaching materials are based on the materials from The Carpentries.
